Baccarat is the greatest well recognized name in glass; they have achieved their spectacular art since the days of Louis XV. Barry Sternlicht is the creator of the Starwood Capital Group, which learned Baccarat in 2005 and started developing it into a lifestyle brand in 2008. The brand is launching a sleek 50-story tower that has a great location on the W.53rd street near the Museum of Modern Art. The entire project reportedly cost over $400 million and is said to be the brainchild of Sternlicht. There is no doubt that this hotel is the epitome of luxury, as when you walk in you see Baccarat chandeliers hanging from the 40- foot ceilings. The hotel will feature a crystal bar and a Parisian terraces reminiscent of the Tuileries Garden.
The interiors of this massive project have been designed and created by Tony Ingrao, who worked to ensure each detail was perfect. The residences have been divided into 61 condominiums, one to five bedroom homes on floors 18 to 49, three duplexes, four full residences and one duplex penthouse. The living rooms for each of these residences is a vision, filled with natural light coming through from 10 or 14 foot floor to ceiling windows. Perfectly complimenting this open space is a signature baccarat piece that lights up the living space. White oak solid wood floors have been finished with an ebony mahogany stain to add a level of hominess to this artistic modern design.
